The Story of Kolkata Metro Since 1984
Kolkata metro is India's one of the oldest operational metro networks since 1984. It is a rapid transit system which is operated by the Metro Railway, Kolkata and Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation(KMRC) . In 1972 Kolkata metro had its first operational line from Esplanade and Netaji Bhawan with a 3.40 km route. The idea has been conceptualised in the 1920's, however at present there are two operational lines of the Kolkata Metro : Dakshineswar- Kavi Subhash and Salt Lake Sector 5- Phool Bagan.
